Maua: Flowers: 花

今日は生徒と新しくできたドミトリーの前に花の種を植えた。
Today, our boys & I planted seeds of flowers in front of boy's new domitory.

この種はマネージャーが2年前、日本で行われた研修でお土産で持ち帰ったものだろう。パッケージには花の名前と蒔き方が日本語で書かれていた。
The seeds were broughtprobably by our manager from Japan, who came to Japan to participate in a seminar 2 years ago. Names of the flowers and discription were written in Japanese on the packages.

菜の花、スターチス、トルコききょう、バニーテールなどなど。
"rape blossoms", "Statice", "Lisianthus", "Bunny tail" etc.

しかし、2年も経った種は芽を出すのか？
種には賞味期限的なものはないのか？
今まで花なんか植えた事ないから全く分からん。
Although, do the seeds bought 2 years ago really germinate?
Is there any "best before" thing for seeds to be planted?
I've never plant flowers, so I have no idea.

”春まき”、”秋まき”、”浅まき”、”五号鉢”など色々丁寧に説明が書かれていたが、いまいちよく分からんけど、とりあえず生徒と蒔いてみた。

Their packages gave me a description of how to plant using words I don't really understand.
"Spring seeding""Autumn seeding""shallow seeding"...........
Anyway, we just planted.

10日後に発芽すると書かれていた。
It says the seeds will germinate after 10 days. Let's wait & see.
