More than 3 weeks have been passed since the day I arrived here in Nairobi.
I am not a "I-upload-blog-everyday" guy but at least I think I should write what my life in Nairobi like. Things I do, Place I stay, Place I study, Food I eat, People I spend time with.
First, I arrived at Nairobi with 18 other JICA Volunteers(JOCV:青年海外協力隊), Male 6 including me, Female 13, on 22nd June, 2010.
I'm still staying in a hotel in Nairobi and will be here util 10th August. 6 male JOCVs staying in the same hotel and females staying a place called JACII, Japan Africa Culture Interchange Institute. JACII is like a language school with accommodation. Here we all study Swahili alomost everyday.
After having breakfast at hotel, guys walk to JACII for the Swahili class. The class starts from 8:30 and ends at 15:00. and we have lunch at 12:00, and dinner at 17:00 there.
JACII is run by one Japanese gentleman and 3 Kenyan ladies cook us beautiful Japanese dishes everyday. Today そうめん for lunch and イカリイングのフライ and オクラスープ as dinner. I didn't have any expectation I could eat such a thing here in Nairobi.
Second, I would like to talk about my people, 19 JOCVs.
Oh, sorry, World Cup Semi-final Match, Germay v Spain, has started. I got to run off now.
I'll talk about them next time. They all are so characteristically outstanding that it requires me more time.
